Life begins at 40... weeks!

Amelia Poppy (Millie) was born on June 12th at 12.25pm. Right on the 40 week mark, and just in time for lunch. She was described variously by the nurses as cute, vigorous, alert and did I mention cute? Matt and I are very tired, but very happy. Millie is already the apple of Daddy's eye; he's going to buy her a pony.

She's about a week old above, sleeping in her big-girl-crib.

Induction news!

We've been booked in for an induction on Thursday, 12th June at 3.30a.m., yes, a.m.

Of course in order to get to the 12th we have to get past the 9th, which is currently birthday of Susan, Lucy, Granny and, I believe, another Auntie on Matt's side. So provided nugget resists the strange lure of June 9th and the appointment stands on the 12th we will be in a race against time to deliver before Friday 13th!

Also (rather ominously) thunderstorms forecast all next week!

Sunday evening cocktails

This was us at the Cocktail Lounge at Oak Street Beach, enjoying the Sunday evening sun last weekend. It's only a 5 minute walk from the house so am hoping to spend some of my maternity leave here...

Doc update and a prediction

Another visit to the Doc today. Was hooked up to the NST machine and nugget appeared to promptly fall asleep for about 20 mins. After a few gulps of cold water in way of wake up call nugget rose to the occasion and wiggled around. Still no real contractions, but Doc Wise says that after next week's appointment on Wednesday we will be getting booked up to be induced on Wednesday night/Thursday morning (June 11th/12th). Now, that really is a strange thought.
Unless of course something happens in the meanwhile...

I went for a haircut at the weekend and the hairdresser is sure nugget is a girl. Who will be right? The hairdresser or the waiter?
